多益範圍內最重要的字尾 -ant, -ent

字尾 -ent, -ant 主要是「形容詞」字尾，若轉當名詞，則通常表示「人」的意思。

(1) -ant, -ent 當形容詞:

consistent adj. 一致的

resistant adj. 抵抗的

persistent adj. 堅持不放棄的

important adj. 重要的

convenient adj. 方便的

(2) -ant, -ent 當名詞表示「人」:

accountant n. 會計師

assistant n. 助理

student n. 學生

president n. 總統

resident n. 居民，住戶

flight attendant n. 空服員

tenant n. (租屋)房客

merchant n. 商人

defendant n. (法律)被告

applicant n. 申請者

immigrant n. (移入)移民

confidant n. 知己密友

consultant n. 顧問

opponent n. 反對者

recipient n. 接受者，受獎者

correspondent n. 特派記者
